Multiusos de Gondomar – Porto

Multiusos de Gondomar - Porto

The Multiusos de Gondomar, inaugurated on June 29, 2007, was designed by the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, being a landmark work in national architecture.

The Multiusos consists of three sections: the elliptical building – or central nave; the support services body consisting of a compact and symmetrical group of changing rooms/restrooms and a set of rooms of varying sizes, among which the Sala D’Ouro stands out, and technical/storage areas.

The building is characterized by its versatility, as it can host various activities such as sporting events, with a capacity for 3,000 spectators (across 3 stands with retractable seating), cultural and/or musical events with a maximum capacity of 8,400 standing and 4,800 seated.

The Multiusos features a central nave – with over 6,000 m2 – designed to accommodate major sports events, concerts/cultural events, congresses, conventions, and fairs. There is also a multipurpose room, with 600 m2 – the Sala D’Ouro – which hosts conferences and various small or medium-sized events. Within this building, you’ll find several rooms of different sizes that serve as training or meeting rooms, complementing the Sala D’Ouro for congresses and corporate events. Additionally, the Multiusos de Gondomar has a public space protected by a concrete canopy, spanning about 520 m2, as well as two parking lots, with a total capacity of around 2,000 vehicles.

This infrastructure is located in the center of Gondomar, well-served by quick access roads (via the A43 exit, just three minutes away from the city of Porto).
